TECHNIQUES<\/h2>\n

Alternate cable cast-on Right slant: With the tip of the right needle, pick up the right strand from the previous row under the next stitch. Place this strand back on the left needle and knit it.

Calliope is a t-shirt that is knitted from the bottom up, in 3 x 1 ribbing. The lower body is knitted in the round up to the armholes, then the front and back are worked separately in back and forth rows. The shoulders are joined with 3 needles.<\/p>\n

To knit the sleeves, pick up stitches around the armholes, shape the sleeve head using a few short rows, then work in the round to the bottom.<\/p>\n
